2 Challenges, 1 Card

Happy Monday! It's a gorgeous winter day here in NC. Makes me long for Spring all the more! :) I decided to start my week by participating in 2 different challenges on 2 different blogs that I follow. The sketch challenge is from HERE. The color challenge is from HERE. The sketch challenge came easy to me, since I am a simple-minded stamper. :) The easier the better! The color challenge was to use whisper white, bashful blue, almost amethyst, and orchid opulence. The first 3 colors were no problem. The orchid opulence stumped me. We used this same technique back in November at our stamp club using the ornament punch. I decided to use the butterfly punch on this card.

RECIPE:
STAMPS: Well Scripted, Flight of the Butterfly (flowers in the butterfly image)
INK: bashful blue (sponging on butterfly mask), almost amethyst (flowers), orchid opulence (greeting), versamark
PAPER: ww, bashful blue, almost amethyst
OTHER: ww organza ribbon, corner rounder punch, slot punch, butterfly punch, clear detail embossing powder

Top Note Quilt-y Card

I've seen this type of card over at SCS, so I thought I'd give it a try with the new Sending Love Specialty DSP. Love this paper! Pre-glittered, pretty patterns, and most of all, it's not too Valentine's Day - if you know what I mean. I love multi-purpose DSP - all occasion. Since I hoard my DSP, it needs to get me from January to December! :)
Anywho, back to the card. No stamping on the front. Simple card to make. Whatcha think!?!

RECIPE:
STAMPS: none :(
INK: none :(
PAPER: Sending Love Specialty DSP, choc chip, pretty in pink
OTHER: square punch, top note die, *new* pink satin ribbon, button latte, linen thread

Quick & Easy Cards

What a beautiful winter day in NC! Carolina blue skies, normal temps. I can almost feel Spring! Before you know it, we will all be heading out for pedicures...Ahhh, wishful thinking...

My sister in law asked me to make some more gender neutral cards for her clients - birthday and get well. I made her several hundred cards last year, so I thought I should change up the card design, so her clients don't receive the same birthday card 2 years in a row - the horror! :) So here they are. Very simple and easy to reproduce. Y'all know that I would rather make 100 easy cards, than 1 complicated (cutting and coloring) card! :)
RECIPE:
STAMPS: Upsy Daisy; Thoughts & Prayers; Sincere Salutations; Canvas BG
INK: choc chip; creamy caramel
PAPER: same as above; vanilla; kraft
OTHER: Top Note Die; key tag punch; sponging

Fox-y Birthday

Yes, I'm still here. I've been in a crafting frump lately. No mojo! I forced myself to sit down and play with some of my new SU! goodies today. And I must say, I am in love with the new satin ribbons and this new stamp set, Fox & Friends. These animals are so cute and don't require any coloring - Yeah for me! :) I used this card for inspiration.

Recipe:

Stamps: Fox & Friends, Birthday Bliss

Ink: Choc Chip

Paper: VV, Pretty in Pink, Choc Chip

Other: VV satin ribbon, 1 1/4" punch, 1 3/8" punch, felt flowers, CB swiss dot folder

Blog Make Over

I finally decided to expand my blogging horizons and add a cutsy header and background. I hate the winter with a passion, but I do love a snowman! And the snowflakes remind me of Baja Breeze (miss that color!). My next task is to use MDS (My Digital Studio) to make a new and improved header. The possibitilies are endless! :)
Not much crafting going on this week. :( My stamping, sewing, and quilting mojo has left the building. If you find it, pleae return asap!!

Warm Winter Wishes

Happy 2010! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season with your family and friends. I finally had some time to escape in my craft room and stamp today (yeah!), so I decided to join in on my friend's blog challenge. You can read about it HERE.

It's so ridiculously cold here in NC today, that this "winter" challenge was perfect. I dusted off Mailbox Greetings (PTI), and inked it up. I love the images and sentiments in this set, but we all know how much I dislike coloring, so I've barely used it. I will mail this card to my brother and sister-in-law in Germany to let remind them how much we miss them. It was a rough Christmas this year, having my only sibling half way around the world.

RECIPE:
Stamps: Mailbox Greetings (PTI)
Ink: Espresso, choc chip, baja breeze
Paper: ww, choc chip, baja breeze, parisian breeze
Other: word window punch, modern label punch, satin ribbon, dazzling diamonds, Copics
