Up for a Challenge?!?

I am! :) When I saw this sketch challenge, I knew that I had to create. Usually I sit and ponder for way too long about stamps, colors, etc. For some reason, with this sketch, I knew right away that I would make this for my hubby for Valentine's Day. I decided to bring out my beloved and much-missed baja breeze card stock. It's very hard for me to part with this card stock. IMHO, it is SU's best blue ever! Anywho, onto the card...No explanation needed. I mounted the baja card stock onto a piece of choc chip. Looks better in real life, difficult to photo, since the card front wouldn't stay down. Easy to make ~ my kind of card! :) Hope hubby likes it!
RECIPE:
STAMPS: Medallion, Well Scripted
INK: choc chip, baja breeze
PAPER: same as above, Perisian Breeze DSP
OTHER: choc chip grosgrain ribbon

"Big Sister" Blanket

***This is post #2 for the day...see below for a easy and cute baby blanket.***
This quilt is for the big sister of the baby who I made the satin edge blanket for (see post below). This quilt is very very easy to assemble. All of the fabrics were purchased at Thimble Pleasures. Can you tell how much I love that store!?! Not only do they carry the newest and greatest fabrics, but their staff is so helpful. If you have a quilting/sewing question, they have an answer. After Gianna was born, a few friends and neighbors brought Big Sister gifts for Bella, and it meant so much to her. She loved having some "Bella" attention, in the midst of all of the baby attention going on. So from now on, I'm going to try to make an effort to make/buy big sibling gifts to go along with baby gifts.

Satin Edge Baby Blanket

Last month, my good friend, Susan, and I took a class at Thimble Pleasures, called Satin Edge Baby Blanket. We finished the blanket in about 2 hours, but now that I know how to make them, they can easily be made in 1 hour. So I decided to make this blanket for a friend who is expecting baby #2 next month. It's so difficult to shop for baby #2, since moms usually have tons of clothes and toys from baby #1. So a handmade blanket fit the bill! The 2 fabrics and the satin edge were purchased at Thimble Pleasures. If you are ever in the need for some yummy fabric, a good sewing/quilting class, or anything else fabric related, you must check them out.

Buttons Buttons Everywhere

I'm on a stamping and blogging roll here this week! wahoo!! :) This series of cards was inspired by a card that my good friend, Susan, made for Bella a couple of weeks ago. It was a simple, yet bright and fun card. Bella loves to get mail, especially homemade cards! (she is her mother's daughter! :) ) Onto the cards...I used PTI's Everyday Button Bits stamp set, various buttons, and nestabilities. Voila - easy cards! I made several of each of these cards and donated them to my favorite organization, Operation Write Home (previously known as Cards for Heroes). Every time I think of or mention our troops, I instantly think of my brother and sister in law - I miss them so much! Please continue to remember and pray for our troops.
RECIPE:
STAMPS: PTI Button Bits
INK: black, real red, close to cocoa, wasabi
PAPER: ww, same as above
OTHER: nestabilities, misc buttons

Fox-less Friends

Good Tuesday Morning! Since I'm snowed in, I've decided to stamp. Y'all know how much I hate winter and snow, so I've been stamping a lot lately to help pass the time. Plus, I'm heading back to work (as a nurse) shortly, so I've been trying to work ahead on projects, since my stamping time will be limited. :( The card today is for my daughter's first birthday thank you's - Can you believe that Gianna will be 1 next month!?! Makes me sad that she is growing up so fast. Anywho, on to the card. I got the inspiration for the card from SCS. I used Fox & friends stamp set, minus the fox for this card.

RECIPE:
STAMP: Fox & Friends
INK: Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Celery, Saffron
PAPER: WW, same as above
OTHER: Circle punches, Pretty in Pink satin ribbon, button
